We have the power to make judgements.
We judge whether we liked that movie.
We judge whether it’s worth taking that holiday.
We judge whether it’s better to stay in this evening or go for a drink with some friends.
We judge each other.
When we do, we begin to create differences between us. We begin to compare. We’re either better or lesser than others.
We judge ourselves.
When we do, we begin to have all kinds of false ideas about ourselves, causing us to feel depressed and defeated.
When we don’t judge each other we are at peace.
When we don’t judge ourselves we are even more at peace.
Like I said at the start, we have the power to make judgements. On the same token we have to power to stop doing so.
